At the beginning of September, we launched into the market the new image of 2 classical trademarks of our winery: Adega Coop. Borba D.O.C. and Convento da Vila.

We developed specifically a new 75cl-bottle, taller and much more elegant.
The choice of the respective new image was made to give to the set “bottle-label-caps-case” a general visual much more attractive, modern and distinctive, but keeping the great character of these 2 trademarks.

After several months of dedication and investment, we have the great pleasure to announce that the Adega Cooperativa de Borba received the final concession for the quality and food safety certification according to the international norms NP EN ISO 9001:2000 e 22000:2005.

We underline that the Adega Coop. Borba is the first winery in Portugal to have the norm NP EN ISO 22000:2005.

So the Adega Coop. Borba received this concession with a supplementary responsibility, and is conscious that these certifications are a real dynamic but demanding work tool, but which is very important to consolidate a continuous improvement of our products and services to our customers. In this process, it was crucial the dedication and responsabilization of each employee as an element of a chain to guarantee a generalized quality and food safety of our products.

As Technical Director, he is for 3 years responsible for all the area of oenology but also of viticulture, but he accompanies very closely the development of the Adega Coop. Borba in the last 6 years as a member of the board.



So, for example, he concretized the project of responsabilization and close accompaniment of the associated vine-growers along the year to get grapes of high quality during the harvest, or the project of controlling closely the grape maturation in all vineyards to choose the best moment for harvesting in each of them according to its specific conditions, through a regular picking-up for analyse thanks to unusual parameters and high technological equipments.

Moreover, in a general view, he is responsible of planning, management and accompaniment of all the processes for the production that means the processes of vinification, stock, blending or wines evolution to guarantee for each trademark its specific organoleptical characteristics.

 

• The grapes harvest began this year on the 30th of August. We will give further details in the next newsletter!

• The single and bivarietals from the vintage 2006 were bottled and are currently maturing in our cellar. We promise you some surprises!

• The Vine and Wine Fair in Borba will occur this year between the 10th and 18th of November.
