Adega de Borba Premium Red with new harvest

The first novelty of 2021 is now available, we present the 2019 harvest of Adega de Borba Premium Red. Adega de Borba range, one of Adega de Borba’s well-known brands, which includes this reference with a premium quality designation.

Adega de Borba Premium Red 2019 is a wine of superior quality, signed by winemaker Oscar Gato and produced with grapes from the varieties Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon, selected in vineyard plots in an integrated production system. Vineyards of the partners of Adega de Borba that contribute so much to the environmental sustainability of the Alentejo region.
After strict control of the evolution of the maturation of the grapes in the vineyard, the winemaking process began, upon arrival at the winery, with the destemming and smooth crushing of the grapes, which was followed by the alcoholic fermentation process in a stainless steel mill, with mechanical treading, ending in maceration for 10 days, under temperature control at 22-25ºC. Malolactic fermentation took place in a small volume stainless steel vat. A 6 month aging in new French, American and brown oak barrels, preceded bottling and the final aging in a 6 month bottle cellar.

This red has a garnet color with great depth and a good intensity aroma, revealing ripe red fruits, jam and ripe pepper. The taste is soft, elegant, with black fruits, coffee and chocolate standing out. The structure is fine and persistent at the end of the mouth.
This Premium of the Adega de Borba range, produced with the regular consumption of demanding customers in mind, has an alcohol content of 14%, being especially suited to accompany well-flavored foods, such as Portuguese stew, roasted lamb, game of hair or cheese traditional.
Ready to consume now, this Premium 2019 will be able to age in the wine cellar over a handful of years.
